Houses, inns, the historic brewery, wharves, the eyot and several substantial mansions, standing on the quay, looking on to water at high tide, and out upon a muddy foreshore.

Chiswick Mall grew up as a fishing village around St. Nicholas church. For centuries fishermen and watermen used the waterfront of old Chiswick to deliver goods to riverside businesses and the surrounding area. Fuller, Smith & Turner and its predecessor companies have been brewing beer at the Griffin Brewery for over 350 years.
