A selection of the quirky grotesques on The Wills Memorial Building, which along with The Wills Tower are a central part of Bristol University.

It provides some excellent examples of 20th century craftsmanship including the detailed carving of the grotesques that gaze down from the outside ledges. These are understood to be lecturers at the University at that time.
It is a Neo Gothic building designed by George Oatley. It was begun in 1915 and not opened until 1925, and considered one of the last great Gothic buildings to be built in England. The carvings were designed by Hahn, and were carved by Bristolians Arthur Bird and William Smith and an Italian named Agostini.
