The Somerset Coal Canal is a pretty rural marina set in a short arm off the Kennet & Avon Canal. It was originally the first stretch of the Somerset Coal Canal built to bring coal from the coalfield in North Somerset. Opened in 1805 it closed in 1899 and became derelict. It was excavated and restored in the mid 1980's.

Dundas Aqueduct carries the Kennet and Avon Canal over the River Avon and the main line railway from Bath to Westbury in Monkton Combe. It was designed by John Rennie and chief engineer John Thomas between 1797 and 1801 and completed in 1805. It is named after Charles Dundas, the first chairman of the Kennet and Avon Canal Company. It was listed Grade I in 1956.
