The Portbury steam locomotive worked on the
Harbourside from 1922 for Bristol docks, until the 1960’s when the city docks closed. Now part of the M Shed museum, this last surviving engine was restored by volunteers and carriages are attached for short pleasure trips. On ‘rest’ days it hauls various trucks and cranes to help maintain the rails. Its livery is marked with I.W. & D 34 - Inland Waterways and Docks.
