Hammersmith Bridge

... unfortunately not able to cope with our modern world, it had to close to traffic several years ago.

I have two landscape pictures of Hammersmith Bridge and The Mall available online from www.vanillawhite.com width 60cms or 95cms.

Spanning the banks of the Thames to Barnes stands the majestic Hammersmith Bridge. Combining the best of Victorian decorative style with the heavy, purposeful, industrial structure favoured by the era.

Part of Britain’s engineering heritage and a national landmark. It was built in 1887 and is one of the world's oldest suspension bridges. It is a Grade II* listed structure made of wood and wrought iron with the suspension held in place by cast iron pedestals.
